To anyone who knows Jazzlynn Oneal: she is a strong mother, a great friend, sister, and auntie—the most phenomenal woman I know.

She has always come through for me and my kids. She has been through so much in her life and is still standing stronger than ever.

I’m so proud of all of your accomplishments, Jazzlynn, and I know you have even more to achieve.

I love you and I thank you for everything you have done for me.

You were there for me when I really had no place to live, and in so many other ways that mattered.

You’ve always treated me like a brother, and I’m so thankful to have a big sister like you.

Five years ago, I never would’ve thought I could be in the happiest, healthiest, and most blessed time of my life. Back then, I was completely broken. My mother had just died, my kids had been taken from me, and I never thought I was worthy enough to stand in the glorifying place I’m in now.

But when I was at my lowest, Jazzlynn came to me and told me she would be there every step of the way. She held my hand, even when I didn’t want to reach out. When I thought that no one could love me—and I didn’t even know if I could love myself—she saw more in me than I could see in myself.

She gave me a job and taught me how to run a business, until I finally started my own LLC. When I thought I couldn’t get a driver’s license at 30 years old, she took me to my behind-the-wheel test and sat up with me while I studied.

When I had my child in the front seat of a car and thought he wasn’t going to make it, she came in the middle of the night and held my hand while I fed him, until he was released from the hospital. When I thought I couldn’t go to school, she took me until I graduated. When I didn’t think I’d ever see my other kids again, she got them and flew with me to pick them up from the airport.

To this day, I give her all my respect and love for sticking by my side, even when I know it was hard. I never knew someone who would actually put another person first and truly mean it.

She worked my steps with me to stay sober, and on the days I relapsed, she put me in a safe home until I was better and started the process again with me. When I never thought I would have my own car, she woke up early, found one for me, and took me to pick it up.

Now, I finally see myself as the person she saw in me so long ago. I am thankful for her dedication, her unwavering spirit, and most importantly, her unconditional love.

Most people don’t know what unconditional love means. But with no boundaries and no conditions—except to wake up and try again—that’s all she ever asked of me. She answered every phone call at 3 a.m., on weekends and holidays.

When I didn’t have enough food, she came with bags of groceries. When my kids didn’t have beds, she came with beds. When my baby needed new diapers, she brought diapers. And when I just needed someone to listen, she gave me her shoulder.

I don’t know if it was because she saw herself in me, but I know she believed in me until I had the strength to believe in myself. That’s the type of woman I would choose any day to guide the future of the next generation—to give people the chance to see themselves through all the challenges in life, and to be dedicated and selfless in all her actions.

There are no words that could ever fully express how much love she has shown me and my family. Thank you so much, Jazzlynn. Thank you for being a person who started a nonprofit to give opportunities back to people who have lost everything.

Thank you for leading the way for those who didn’t think they could get up again. I thank God for giving you a heart of gold that never wavers, a non-judgmental spirit, and unconditional love. Thank you.
